With whistle blowers like Julian ange & Michael Hastings now fearing for their safety,do people just not..?

...want to hear the truth about what their government & military are doing? The criticism of them both has been deafening, especially from the right. Yet is it not the job of an investigative journalist to expose the truth? If elected officials and senior military personnel are engaging in criminal or unscrupulous activities, then surely they should be exposed? Or do Americans simply not want to hear the truth, and would rather read about celebs and watch reality television. Is the USA now simply an idiocracy?
