Why does one astronaut say the LM rocket was quiet, while another says it's very loud?
When landing and taking off from the moon different astronauts have very different recollections of what transpired. One says the rocket engines were silent because sound does not exist in the vacuum of space. And then another astronaut says that because you're basically sitting on the rocket engine you can't hear yourself think. Why are there these different versions of the same thing? Were some of them in a zero cabin pressure wearing their space suits thus the quiet version, while the other ones were in a cabin full of air with their helmets off thus the loud version? I don't get it?
