Makeup for prom/formal at makeup counters?!?

i am sorry to tell you but they use testers. i mean the products that are out for people to use before they buy an item is what they use on your face. but don't be too freaked out because they do sterilise them in alcohol first to remove germs and bacteria and also they use clean sanatized brushes. so just chill out and enjoy the experience. i have got my makeup done at a counter many times before and i have never had a problem
